As for the Event Logs, which section of the logs would they be in, and which category should I set as a filter for that section? If the system will not get on the Internet are you using sneakernet or some other method which we hope you will describe to apply your downloads to the afflicted system? Checking the event log is also a good idea here, there may be clues to what is failing. LemP Replied on August 21, That reinforces my hope that it is simply a manufacturing defect or a design flaw.

Connect the ethernet cable to the pc and powerline adapter and boot off the Linux volume. Thanks for marking this as the answer. I really don’t want the entire motherboard to fail. I guess it happens when the computer sleeps.
The issue began the other day. After a few hours of letting it sleep, the issue has returned once again. Disable power saving of the adapter as described earlier and then set the pc to never sleep and leave it for as long as you can in an attempt to reproduce the problem.
You paid for the knowledge and experience that was able to determine what needed to be installed, where to find that component, and how to install it. If the adapter works all that time, put the pc to sleep for say five minutes then wake it up and see if the adapter is still present and working.
Sorry this didn’t help. Yeah, powwe cycling seems to be a temporary fix for the problem for some people.
And if so, does it show a warning icon for your Broadcom Ethernet controller? In Device Manager you say you have issues but we can’t see the ethenet you see. I got completely ripped off.
