Having created the initial RAID 0 on the Promise chipset through installing the OS and using F6 to install the Promise drivers setting up the system disk was easy enough.

Keizer March 29th, A RAID config program allowed me to convert them to non-raid. They are newer than what I used from my motherboard CD. Ask a question and give support. I had another question. I don’t think there’s that much a risk updating them really. I’m running Windows XP Pro. This defies logic, but the Promise controller aaus massive buffering which obviously overcomes p4800-e PCI data bus. Any suggestion would be much appreciated.
I was wondering if the two lower Asjs connections that are ran by the Promise controller act the same way? RAID can be finickity at times, but then again there could be optimizations and fixes.
I go back to the support cd and install Intel Chipset Inf Update program – can’t remember now whether this was before or after para 3. Keizer MVM Apr I am beginning to think they don’t.

Remember there are 2 so make sure you browse the floppy drive to find ALL drivers. The Promise chipset hdd’s bootup fine as Drive C: This is on completely different hardware though, but do keep in mind you may have to reformat and reload.
Press F6 here and load them off the floppy. If it was up to me I probably wouldn’t update them because I beleive in the saying “Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke”. Had my Windows set up on one drive, wanted to go to Raid 0.

Once you create the array, you’ll reboot. Yes it certainly does! It goes through the process of formatting after I select the type of drive.
Thanks for your advice. And maybe having the latest BIOS installed might help as well.
